A little horn necklace brings you a little luck

One of my previous colleagues use to wear a little red pendant around his neck. Originally, I thought it was a chili pepper, but when I asked he said it was a little horn amulet given to him by his Italian grandfather as a lucky charm -- called a cornicello. I was fascinated by this little red horn. And so I did a bit of research and feel in love with the meaning of this horn amulet.

The corno or cornicello is an amulet of ancient Italian origin to protect against the evil eye, where "corno" means “horn” and cornicello means “little horn.”  Made from red coral, from gold or silver, and even from genuine horn, the cornicello represent the twisted horn of an African eland.

A Sacred Symbol in Ancient Europe

This cornicello horn amulet like the horns of all horn creatures are presumed to be sacred as it's worn by many Ancient European Gods and Goddess:

  • the horned god Faunus from ancient Rome who was known for nature and fertility
  • the horned god Cernunnos from ancient Celts who was known for fertility, life, animals, wealth
  • the horned goddess Selene from ancient Greece who was known as as the moon goddess

Not only does it protect from the evil eye, Italian descendants wore it to protect fertility, bring prosperity and allows one to connect with your heritage. These horn pendant necklaces make perfect gifts for your loved ones to bring them protection and prosperity.

And with Mother's Day coming up in May, consider giving her a lucky little horn pendant necklace. As well, a horn jewelry will remind your mother how special she as each one is handcrafted, beautifully unique, and one-of-a-kind.
