Handwoven rattan by artisans in northern Vietnam
This Tan Tien Buffalo Horn Centerpiece Circle Wicker Rattan Bag is handwoven by artisans in northern Vietnam using rattan. Rattan is a climbing palm found in Southeast Asia; and similar to the strength and durability of bamboo, rattan has been used for many years to make baskets and trays. At Hathorway, our rattan is planted, harvested, sorted and dried carefully in the province of Nam Dinh, Vietnam. Because of it's natural state, all of our rattan bags will be slightly different in colors and patterns.

More beautiful in person, this Tan Tien Buffalo Horn Centerpiece Circle Wicker Rattan Bag features a circular beige horn centerpiece - each with variation in color and patterns. Why wear horn jewelry & accessories?
At Hathorway, we selected horn as our primary material to create our jewelry and accessories, because of what it represents to us: Courage, Consciousness, Individuality.
Courage - Back in ancient times, hunters would wear the horns of the creature they hunted. It acted as a trophy which would bring them luck for their next hunt. It also became a symbolism for courage that them respect in their village. Though we do not hunt the animals we wear today, our horn jewelry gives us, women, an edgy impression that reminds us us to not only look courageous but also, be courageous in our everyday lives.
Consciousness - Our horns are a byproduct of the food industry, providing families with hearty meals. Meanwhile, the skin is repurposed as leather and horns and bones are repurposed for jewelry and accessories. At Hathorway, we’ll find ways be more conscious by reusing and repurposing materials so that nothing is wasted. Our planet matters.
Individuality - Organic and genuine, each horn charm possesses its own gorgeous colors, textures and patterns -- some horns in vanilla-colored tones with caramel-colored flecks, and some horns in honey-colored tones with a various levels of translucency. They will never look 100% identical to one another. Because our jewelry are all unique and beautiful in its own imperfect way, it is a reminder for us to embrace our very own individuality and uniqueness as well as each others.
